Finally Satisfied, M.P.

I wasn't raised in a Christian home. I knew there was a God, but that was all. As a teen, I was a wild young person. Then at age 19, I met and married a wonderful young guy. He was raised in a Christian home, but he didn't know the Lord either. After three years of marriage, we had a son. I don't know why, but I wanted to raise my son in a Christian home and not in a home life like I had as a child.

The Lord was calling me then through my sister who started “bugging” me to go to her church with her. At first it bothered me, then I gave in and went with her. The first time that the preacher gave the altar call invitation, I received the Lord. I was so happy; for the first time in my life I was satisfied. However, although my husband was a good man, the best husband and father, it bothered me more and more that he wasn't saved. Then finally, after two years of struggling, he received the Lord. We stayed in the same denomination for four years but I started sensing a deepening dissatisfaction, a feeling that something was missing; I couldn't understand why all Christians couldn't be one. So, we started visiting different denominations and free groups. Then eventually, we went back to the place where my husband had received the Lord. I enjoyed the Lord so much on Sunday, but I wanted it to last for every day during the week.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law were in a local church in California, so when they came home to visit us on a vacation, they took us to a church meeting in Miami. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed being with the believers in that meeting.

A short time later someone gave me a little book titled Our Human Spirit by Witness Lee. I read that book and I was so happy, after all those years, to realize that I have a human spirit and I could exercise my spirit just by calling on the name of the Lord, moment by moment, day by day. Then I really began to enjoy all that He is to us even more by prayerfully reading the Word. Reading the verses of the Bible in a prayerful way is so enjoyable. I'm so thankful to the Lord for the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and that the Lord has shown us through their ministry that all Christians can be one now if we just enjoy this wonderful Christ. Our eyes are opened to the truth; 2 Timothy 2:22 “pursue with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”
